A weekly SAT or ACT routine built around review

Fit a baseline, focused practice, and a short review into a realistic weekly schedule without taking a full test every day.

Start with the time you actually have

Choose a schedule you can repeat alongside school, work, and rest. Three focused sessions can be easier to evaluate than an ambitious daily plan that changes every week. The sample below is a starting routine, not a required dose or a promise of a score increase.

Use a completed diagnostic to choose one or two priorities. If you do not have a test date yet, you can still practice and review. Add the date later when you have checked the official registration deadlines and your school calendar.

Give each session a different job

Session one, about 30 minutes: review three to five missed or guessed questions. Retry before reading the explanations, then write the cause and the next action. End by naming the skill for your next session rather than opening an unrelated set.

Session two, about 30 minutes: learn or refresh that skill and solve a small group of new questions. Begin untimed when the concept is uncertain. Use timing when you can explain the method and want to test whether it holds under a deadline.

Session three, about 20 minutes: revisit the earlier concepts without notes. Compare the reasoning, update your log, and decide whether to keep the same priority or move on. Include a short check of your school workload before planning the next week.

Use full tests as checkpoints

Reserve a full test for a block of time that matches its intended conditions, including the planned breaks. It can show whether your skills transfer across a longer session and reveal pacing issues a short set misses. Leave time afterward for review.

Pause and resume can help you finish practice when your day changes, but record those conditions beside the result. For a realistic baseline, attempt a test in one sitting when possible. Your review routine should explain the next step regardless of whether the estimate went up or down.

Try this next

Put three sessions on your calendar: review, focused practice, and revisit. Name the first skill now.
