Agree on the support before looking at scores
Ask your student what would help: protecting a quiet study block, planning around activities, finding an explanation, or reviewing a difficult question together. Agree on when you will check in so preparation does not become an unexpected conversation every evening.
A score can start the discussion, but it does not tell the whole story. Ask which questions felt uncertain and which step became clearer. Students can complete a long test without yet knowing how to review it; helping them make that transition can make your conversation more concrete.
Let the student explain one example
Choose a Correction Log entry and ask, ‘What did you think the question wanted?’ Follow with, ‘What will you do differently on another question like this?’ If the explanation is unclear, work together to locate a lesson or ask a teacher. You do not need to solve the whole exam yourself.
In Bilubi, students can open Activity in their signed-in account and review test and practice dates, duration, attempted questions, and results with you. There is no separate parent login or automatic parent reporting at present. Review the account together and let your student control their private information.
End with one manageable commitment
Agree on a next task that fits the week: review three questions, practice a specific concept, or try a short timed set. Decide what support you will provide and when you will check back. A completed task and an understandable reflection are easier to discuss than a vague demand to work harder.
If a pattern keeps repeating, gather the student’s worked examples before considering tutoring. Ask a prospective tutor how they would approach those examples and what practice would happen between meetings. Prices, availability, and fit should be clear before arranging paid sessions.
